Position Summary:

Lean Six-Sigma process improvement techniques are used to provide sustained improvement to critical business processes. The Manager of Six Sigma process and performance management position works with senior management to identify areas of improvement, create projects, gather resources for projects. This position manages and tracks the progress of projects to support company’s short and long-range business objectives; consults with management regarding process efficiency and effectiveness issues and develops others’ skills in performance standards and metrics.


  • Assists in the creation of performance metrics, reporting and improvement targets for all strategic business units. Coordinates the Strategy Deployment Process Lean Bowler preparation on a monthly basis.

  • Drives culture change to instill focus on fact-based management practices, the use of Lean Six-Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies.

  • Increases standardization of work processes.

  • Continuously improves company’s organizational capabilities to achieve process quality as part of project execution, including an awareness of the need to “do it right the first time.”

  • Supports project teams in process quality activities by educating, coaching and mentoring others on process improvement philosophy, tools and application.

  • Coordinates Training for Green Belts and Black Belts.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field is required for this position.

  • Lean Six-Sigma green belt certification required with a black belt certification preferred.

  • Five to ten years of general experience and three to five years of experience in using data from various information systems and technology; especially with quality systems.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • A strong knowledge of MS Office Products,

  • A high level of initiative.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as well as a high level of accuracy/quality, the ability to work independently, problem solving and team skills, and the ability to multi task.

Physical Effort:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and or move objects up to 25 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers/scanning, fax machines, and file cabinets.

  • Travel: Travel to multiple locations within the company.
