The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Cards and Retail Services, Deposit Products Group, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Payment Solutions, and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. Wells Fargo Merchant Services specializes in providing solutions such as credit card, debit card, check guarantee, e-commerce and gift cards to businesses of all sizes. WFMS is nationally recognized for its ingenuity and reputation as a leader in the electronics payments industry.

This role will spearhead multiple strategic initiatives that drive transformation within the business and increase the effectiveness of the team in meeting the needs of small business owners. This role will play a key role in the Merchant Services pivot transformation, which aims to drive transparency, ease, delight, and simplification across the customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic planning background and possess the ability to structure ambiguous business problems and complex information into straightforward recommendations and action plans. Throughout its responsibilities, the role will collaborate and exchange ideas with team members at various levels across the organization.

San Francisco is the preferred location, though other locations will be considered.

Key areas of work include:

  • Lead end-to-end strategic initiatives, from opportunity identification through requirements definition, action planning, and ultimately results analysis

  • Gather and synthesize market information to determine capability gaps and recommend new strategies and programs

  • Drive strategic pivot program deliverables, including the expansion of simplified pricing and integrating the digital and branch channels

  • Influence continued innovation in product delivery and the customer/team member experience

  • Build and implement new potential business models and revenue streams for the Merchant Services Community Bank segment

The position includes a 10-20% travel requirement

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of strategic planning experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • A Master's degree or higher

  • 2+ years of process design or improvement experience

  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner

  • Ability to identify risk factors and ensure enactment of appropriate controls

  • Ability to influence and collaborate at all internal organizational levels

  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into executive level communications

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Ability to create and deliver dynamic presentations

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
