Who are we looking for?


•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of work experience in analytical instruments capital equipment sales)

•At least 5 years of analytical instruments capital equipment sales work experience

What will you be doing?

This position will be responsible for direct sales of the Analytical Instruments product line for the Life Science Water industry in the Upper Midwest Region (Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas). The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the sales process, excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to learn our product and service offerings. In addition, curiosity, collaboration and a desire to grow with our team both personally and professionally should be key drivers for the successful candidate. This is a home-based position with travel and will require residing within an hour of a major airport, preferably Minneapolis, St. Louis, or Kansas City area.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

•Achieving sales targets for instruments and aftermarket products / services within the area – develop sales plans to achieve assigned targets

•Documenting all planned activities, opportunities, contacts, documents utilizing CRM throughout sales process steps

•Full cycle sales process including: prospecting, negotiations, strategic selling, closing, key account management, product demonstrations, and presentations

•Prepare and present monthly forecast utilizing CRM information, including activity plans, customer intelligence, opportunities, sales revenue

•Collect and report competitive information including sales trends, market/industry activity, product and service opportunities demonstrating a strong understanding of our primary markets and applications including the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, medical device, cosmetics/personal care for cleaning validation, endotoxin, and USP PW / WFI markets and related applications (this knowledge includes a complete understanding of industry regulations as they relate to our products)

•Have a basic technical understanding of our competitors’ products and sales distribution

•Be responsible for keeping sales management and the appropriate product manager informed and aware of market trends and customer feedback

•Partner with other sales team members to discuss market information, sales strategies and tactics, and to coordinate key account opportunities that span multiple territories and regions

•Travel on a frequent basis to customer sites in the assigned territory to perform product demonstrations, assist in the sale of aftermarket products, and visit existing customers to prospect for new opportunities

•Attend company sponsored trade shows within the territory and brings awareness to local or regional conferences that would help create sales opportunities in the territory

•Travel to and participates in company sales conferences and meetings
