Position Summary The Property Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Property Accounting Manager supervises the property accounting team which consists of 5 direct reports. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Property Accounting Manager will actively collaborate with other managers to support overall property operations goals. The Property Accounting Manager reports directly to the Controller. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Obtaining and maintaining a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure Ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of monthly financial information including the proper application of GAAP Facilitating clean and timely year-end audits for all property financials Responding to inquiries from the CFO, Controller, and other managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like Monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy Supporting forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis Complying with internal controls, policies and procedures Assisting in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department Providing training to new and existing staff as needed Working with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitoring and advising on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff Supporting Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements Compensation Compensation is commensurate with experience.
