Summary The person selected for this position will work on air-quality projects involving environmental monitoring and problem-solving. The work will include air-emissions sampling and data collection at industrial facilities, monitoring equipment calibration and maintenance, laboratory analysis and data reduction, and assistance with report preparation for submittal to clients and regulatory authorities. This role also may assist with ambient air-quality monitoring, indoor air-quality sampling, and meteorological data collection and processing. Work will include both travel to and work at client facilities and completion of responsibilities in the Minneapolis office. Minimum Qualifications Ongoing enrollment in a science or engineering degree program Self-initiative to identify and independently carry out tasks to completion Self-motivation to overcome obstacles, fulfill commitments, and meet client needs Conscientiousness for accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness of results Commitment to putting team goals ahead of personal goals Flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs Positive attitude and approach to problem solving Mechanical aptitude Thorough, detail-oriented approach and strong organizational skills Good communication and personal interaction skills Experience using computer spreadsheets Availability and willingness to regularly travel up to 50 percent of the time with the potential for greater levels of periodic travel to meet client needs Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing approximately 70 pounds Ability to work at heights Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship Acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of air-emission test methods Experience evaluating environmental data and preparing reports Laboratory/chemistry experience or education NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of industrial and construction sites and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required; safety training will be provided.
