Habasit America Applications Engineer - Timing Belts (Atlanta, GA or Middletown, CT) in Middletown, Connecticut


Provide Engineering & Technical Services to target customers.


  • Provide incomparable engineering and technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders to optimize the performance of systems using Habasit belting products.

  • Act as principle Timing Belt technical expert for Habasit America

  • Communicate regularly with customers and outside sales force

  • Act as a conduit with Fabrication, Quality, Customer Care personnel concerning customer technical matters

  • Interact with key Group personnel in Global Product Management and R&D

  • Provide internal application project management

  • Support company sales representatives and customers by providing technical support for presale and post-sale activities.

  • Participate in customer visits to develop and maintain strong customer relationships

  • Take ownership to understand customers? needs

  • Effectively offer product alternatives for customers based on clear application requirements to best meet customers? requirements

  • Perform application related engineering calculations

  • Oversee laboratory and field testing activities of products

  • Evaluate product failures, deriving probable cause of failure, and offering solutions to prevent recurrence and/or extend service life.

  • Support commercial goals and strategies

  • Supports the preparation of Timing Belt proposals as necessary to effectively advance the business transaction.

  • Identify and communicate Timing Belt product/service improvements based on customer feedback/experience

  • Maintain records of relevant contact management data.

  • Help to create a ?catalog? of top problems we solve, with technical details of the solution, so these can be used to create Case Studies for the sales team.

  • Seek opportunities to expand the basket of Habasit products sold to a customer through additional options and/or proposing complementary products.

  • Maintain high-level technical knowledge of products/services, competitive product lines and industry through self-education, company resources and trade resources

  • Expert in fabrication capabilities and contributor to fabrication development

  • Support maintenance of competitive information library and internal dissemination of new information

  • Support creation of various assets to aid in technical training of others, both customers and Habasit employees

  • Deliver technical and sales oriented presentations to customer?s staff and Habasit employees

  • Any other duties as assigned

  • Required ? Minimum, Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Required ? Minimum 2 to 5 years lightweight belting experience ? Synchronous and Seamless belts.

  • Required ? Available to work in/outside office in support of customers

  • Required ? Experience in mechanical design & analysis; project management

  • Required ? Experience in time/task management and proactive multitasker.

  • Required ? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: technical writing, presentation and face to face customer interaction.

  • Required ? Microsoft Office: including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and CAD.

  • Required ? Customer and results oriented.
