Scentsy Compounding Operator - Manufacturing in Meridian, Idaho

Intermountain Blending and Filling (a sister company of Scentsy) is looking for a Compounding Operator. The primary responsibilities of the Compounding Operator are to ensure that all materials are pre-weighed, mixed, and produced with a high level of quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Ensure materials are pre-weighed, added to batches, mixed, and pumped out correctly; transfer products to totes following quality procedures; label all materials and bulk intermediate product in accordance with quality procedures

  • Examine materials for defects, deviations, or nonconformances; remove questionable materials from production and label appropriately; provide quality samples to the laboratories as directed by the batch paperwork, and in accordance with quality procedures

  • Complete rework to the expected quality level

  • Clean and sanitize compounding equipment in accordance with quality procedures

  • Maintain work flow through Pre-Weigh and Compounding while maintaining quality and expected output rates.

  • Work safely as directed and in accordance with approved standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment; identify near-miss events or conditions

  • Document data and results in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)

  • Participate fully in the IBF continual improvement program, actively identifying improvement opportunities

  • Actively seek and obtain Operator training as outlined

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train on assigned Operator tasks, SOPs, and complete other assigned training

  • Assist with cleaning and sanitization as required

  • Perform all other tasks and requirements as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1 years of experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment desired, but not required

  • Pre-weighing and compounding experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred

  • Experience working in a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulated environment preferred


  • Actively maintain a high level of personal and team safety; report all safety incidents, including near-miss events or situations; maintain awareness of job hazards and properly wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Follow environmental and compliance guidance and regulations

  • Execute job duties to the highest level of quality, accuracy, and customer service, adhering to the manufacturing schedule; maintain established quality standards

  • Support and help foster a positive work environment, with strong teamwork

  • Expected to be flexible to constant change in a fast-paced environment

  • Support new ideas, concepts, procedures, and techniques

  • Adhere to all established procedures, policies, and safety rules as outlined by the Company

  • Work 40 hours per week, with some overtime as required

  • Obtain and apply working knowledge of IBF’s manufactured products and quality standards.

  • Apply basic communication and customer service skills with other employees

  • Troubleshoot straightforward problems and seek guidance as needed

  • Participate in the communication within the department

  • Complete all required training outlined by Human Resources and leadership

  • Be familiar with product minimum quality manufacturing specifications

  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal manufacturing instructions and direction from Supervisors and Line Leaders; be teachable and a quick learner

  • Ability to stay on task and complete task from start all the way through to completion

  • Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, in a team environment

  • Ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks

  • Ability to follow specified, detailed processes and instructions (SOPs), with a focus on accurate execution and adding value

  • Basic knowledge of computers and all applicable software including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) and ability to learn applicable SAP transactions

  • Ability to work around strong scents and fragrance; Ability to discern color hues

  • Ability to frequently stand, perform repetitive manual dexterity, have both arms and legs accessible and occasionally bend, sit, squat, crawl, walk, and reach above shoulder level

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. consistently. Able to safely team-lift heavier objects.

  • Ability to frequently read and comprehend, write, perform basic mathematic calculations, communicate orally, reason, and analyze

  • Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic customer service skills

  • Understand basic equipment operations

  • Frequently works around moving machinery
