ArcBest Fleet Compliance Specialist in Medina, Ohio

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Fleet Compliance Specialist is to direct and manage the FMCSA DOT compliance of Independent Contractors for the Panther Fleet. This position will accurately process and maintain all records and test results to generate internal and external reports for the DOT and contractual audits. This position works directly with medical examiners, testing facilities, and clinics to ensure compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Regulations and company policies while resolving any issues that may arise.

Job Duties

Ensure independent contractors meet FMCSA DOT medical compliance / carrier requirements

Determine outcome of DOT drug and alcohol screen results and communicate with required parties

Set up new independent contractors and manage the DOT medical certification process

Present and provide instruction of the medical process for Independent Contractor orientation

Monitor and maintain spreadsheets for orientation class, offsite, random, and post accidents DOT drug and alcohol screens

Provide guidance to new and active independent contractors pertaining to medical issues

Clinic selection and scheduling offsite physicals, random drug and alcohol testing, return to duty drug and alcohol testing, and reasonable suspicion testing

Reviewing medical invoices for services rendered for accuracy

Other duties as assigned


Education: High school diploma of equivalent.

Experience: Transportation experience preferred (DOT and Safety). Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
