WA State Department of Social and Health Services Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Medical Lake, Washington

Lakeland Village helps those with mental challenges and intellectual/physical disabilities. In this role, you'll perform occupational therapy assessments, maintain therapeutic equipment, and treatment procedures such as dressing and other self-care skills. Some of what you'll do: Assist occupational therapists with assessments for residents Prepare residents and the environment for therapy Assist in the implementation of treatment goals Motivate and encourage residents toward independence in activities of daily living Participate in team reporting Document patients' response to treatment following established standards What we're looking for: Knowledge of dual diagnosis of developmental disabilities and mental illness Experience leading or co-leading training programs or activities Ability to work in a team environment Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Who should apply? Graduates of an approved educational program for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and successful completion of the American Occupational Therapy Association's Occupational Therapy Assistant certification examination.
