Northrop Grumman Cyber Software Engineer/Principal Software Engineer in McLean, Virginia

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented self-motivated Software Engineer to join an exciting, complex, mission-focused software development project working with a team of qualified diverse individuals in McLean, VA.

The selected candidates will be part of a a small project responsible for selling and maintaining a line of biometric capture products. The project has three products: a card scan system, a live scan system and a Store-n-Forward system.

Because of the small nature of the team, the position requires a hands on person that is comfortable working a variety of roles.

Developer Role responsible for design, engineering and testing of the products, selection and evaluation of COTS products (software and hardware) incorporated into the product

Customer Interface Role POC for the customers, remote help desk support via telephone or email (8:00am-5pm, 5 days a week excluding Northrop Grumman holidays), on-site support as needed, mostly in metro area, with an occasional need to travel out-of-stat.

This position may be filled at a level 2 or 3 depending on experience.

Level 2 Software Engineer: Minimum Bachelors' degree and 2 years of experience, (Degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, System Engineering, Business or related discipline highly preferred), 0 years of experience with a Master's degree, an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for degree.

Level 3 Software Engineer: Minimum Bachelors' degree and 5 years of experience, (Degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, System Engineering, Business or related discipline highly preferred), 2 years of experience with a Master's degree, an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for degree.

Basic Qualifications:

  • C++ / MFC programming

  • ASP.Net / C# or VB.Net and related technologies (e.g. JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, CSS, bootstrap, etc...)

  • MS Visual Studio 2017 or later

  • Relational DB schemas and server apps (SQL Server, Oracle)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hardware API integration (the program uses API's to drive flatbed and fingerprint scanners)

  • 3rd party application API integration (the program integrates with Aware (image quality verification) and Gordano (email client)

  • PC and server platforms and O/S's; including configuration of Windows 7 & 10, Windows Server 2012+ Customer support via in person, phone, and email
