What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Provides direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serves as a coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assesses and coordinates patient's care needs with members of the healthcare team.

  • Responsible to float between outpatient clinics with ability to adapt to work in a variety of clinic settings.

  • Utilizes critical thinking to appropriately delegate tasks and evaluate the effectiveness of care.

  • Assists patients and families to integrate the impact of illness and recovery into their lifestyles, including, but not limited to care planning, patient/family education, discharge planning, and referrals.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • CertifiedAdvanced Life Supportspecializing inCardiacobtained within12 Months (1 year)of hire date or job transfer date.

  • LicensedRegistered Nursecredentialed from theKansas Board of Nursingobtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Associate of Science

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN), or 3 year diploma in nursing required or must be obtained by hire or job transfer date. Preferred that the college or university be accredited by NLN or CCNE BSN from an approved (Accredited by NLN or CCNE) college or university preferred.
