As a Brand Manager, Oncology based in Sydney, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Brand Manager will lead and contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic and tactical plan for an Oncology Brand within AstraZeneca.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

This role is crucial in delivering the brand marketing strategy for your specific portfolio. The successful person will take a lead role in shaping, developing and implementing strategic and tactical marketing plans for the Australia / New Zealand region. You will enjoy developing innovative approaches and will have developed strong interpersonal skills that will see you easily able to engage with your internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Understand and articulate the patient’s perspective from the moment of diagnosis and throughout their journey

  • Ensure that through a deep understanding of the patient journey, the Marketing plans deliver essential short term growth and long term brand success

  • Deliver effective and competitive Strategic and Tactical Marketing plans

  • Shaping marketplace changes, identifying and maximising new growth opportunities

  • Ensure that strong external relationships are built and maintained

  • Ensure that all activities are compliant, globally aligned, supported by stakeholders and truly patient focused

  • Budget management and, agree and delivers upon metrics, measurements and targets

To be successful, you will have:

  • Demonstrated agility in response to changing environment / business needs

  • A track record of delivering above expectations through strong collaboration and team work

  • Strong pharmaceutical Marketing experience essential

  • Experience of working within cross-functional business units essential

  • Experience of working with oncology products and a deep understanding of the oncology market is essential

  • Understanding of Account Planning and Customer Engagement programme and processes

  • Appreciation of local healthcare system pricing and reimbursement

  • Pharmaceutical sales representative experience preferred

  • Science / medicine related degree preferred

  • Marketing qualifications preferred but not essential

You will have proven business and marketing experience and a solid background in pharmaceuticals. You will be customer focussed, results orientated, analytical, foster collaborative teamwork, and enjoy delivering change.
