About The Opportunity
As a member of Manufacturing Engineering Team you will be reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer and your role as a Manufacturing Engineer will be supporting the day to day Canopies Operations Team at Luton.
Ensure that all employees are fully conversant and compliant with the Company’s Health and Safety policies. Ensure that all relevant Health and Safety legislation is effectively implemented and managed.
Providing day-day support to manufacturing operations
Leading structured problem solving projects linked to day-day manufacturing issues
Updating engineering documentation to help maintain configuration control and help manage point of Introduction activities
Providing MRB (Material Review Board) support to existing programs to ensure any process deviation or product faults are reviewed and answered
Delivering permits for the controlled deviation from process
Reviewing production SQN’s (shop query notes)
Reducing process driven scrap and rework
The management of small capital and tooling projects
Support continuous improvement activities
Establish appropriate new process controls and improve existing ones
Provide customer facing support on improvement and RCCA projects.
A degree in a relevant engineering subject
Experience of MRB and in providing frontline support to manufacturing operations.
Experience working to customer specifications and standards.
You should have some relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the aerospace industry.
- Demonstrable experience of practical problem solving techniques
You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation and be flexible in your approach.
Ability to specify and purchase capital equipment or tooling
Experience of using the ‘hierarchy of controls’ in conjunction with statistical process control to maintain and improve the process
Specific training/experience in the application of lean tools
Knowledge and experience in use of Requirements Matrices, PFMEA or similar process life cycle management
Experience in working with suppliers of services and goods
