This location for this position can be flexible and can be based from any of our office in the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities:

You will have a keyresponsibility in supporting the Highways Management Team in their duties tomanage safety within the operating unit

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide HSE advice andguidance to the Senior and project management team to support the achievementof HSE targets in line with our Safety Management System.

  • Prepare and implementHighways operating unit specific HSE strategies, that drive performance andsupport continuous improvement across the Operating Unit, monitor and report ontheir efficacy.

  • Grow the HSE team withinthe operating unit by identifying gaps in support.

  • Line manage and mentorHighways HSE team employees and support the professional development of directreports.

  • Ensure sufficient relianceand continuity planning is in place for your team.

  • Develop and maintain goodclient relationships.

  • Promote Jacobs culture ofcaring to internal and external stakeholders the post holder is expected toengage in and support Jacobs Beyond Zero message.

  • Actively engage in thecompany sales process supporting bids and tender submissions.

  • Support the Senior andproject management teams in delivering Health and Safety in Design bestpractice for our clients.

  • Support the wider UK HSEteam in delivering HSE specific training, this may include developing bespoketraining modules and presentations.

  • Delivering the provision ofan Incident Management Service, which includes incidents investigation,reporting outcomes and learnings to Senior Managers as required.

  • Support the UK HSEleadership in implementing the Global BIAF HSE strategy.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised Third LevelSafety Qualification

  • OHSAS 18001 InternalAuditor

  • Extensive experience ofimplementing and managing HSE programmes including behavioural basedinitiatives

Desirable

  • CMIOSH

  • NEBOSH Diploma orequivalent

  • ICE H&S Register(Advanced)

  • IMPAS (CDM-C or APSManagement of Pre-Construction Health & Safety)

  • Professional Engineering/ Construction qualification (CEng / I Eng)
