In particular, our work with American Express focuses in the entertainment space, whether that be music, film, theatre, dining, fashion or sport.

We are looking for an Account Director to join the team and play a role in how we grow the American Express business through faultless delivery and best in class relationship building. It’s an important role and needs someone who can work with agility, accurately, collaboratively and build great working relationships with internal and external teams. Here’s what you’ll do

As Account Director, you are tasked with leading the experiential and partnerships arm of this collective as well as act as a brand guardian within the wider Momentum American Express teams. The role requires someone who can inspire and lead, but also offer best-in-class account handling and client servicing

You will sit at the center of the action, you are the day-to-day contact for the client and the internal teams, you ensure the smooth running of campaigns making sure they are delivered on time, to budget and that you bring clarity to the creative delivery. You will set the tempo of the business and be able to think strategically and creatively. You will be looking to add value at all stages of campaigns and will be representing the agency on the world stage and helping us build our growing reputation.

To the client, it’s your calm ability to communicate what is happening, when it needs to happen and who needs to do that means they have no question that we can execute to the highest standards and trust us with their brand, business and their personal careers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of integrated American Express’ experientially-led brand campaigns.

  • Protecting the creative product using reason, relationship and intelligence.

  • Seen as the “go to” person for the UK American Express brand.

  • Assume a leadership role across the IAT and ensure all channels work seamlessly together.

  • Responsibility for the management of project budgets and project timelines, agency resource and third party costs, with meticulous management expected as standard.

  • Translate briefs into operational project plans in partnership with account, strategy and creative leads.

  • Brief and manage other agency staff, such as creative, artwork, technology and live events, leading process, ensuring positive sense of collaboration throughout process.

  • To your counterparts in client services, project management, strategy, creative, technology, event production and agency leadership you are an effective partner, helping the different skills function in harmony, hitting the right notes at each stage of the process. When you’re involved in a campaign and project, there is only order.

  • Build effective relationships at a senior client level that support in both a collaborative agency / client dynamic and yield opportunity for growth.

  • Collaborative approach to partnering with account, strategy, creative and production partners and be agile in working styles to get the best out of your teams.

  • Ability to tailor communications and style to different stakeholders and personality types, always working with good humour.

  • Ability to juggle a number of projects and tasks simultaneously and consistently deliver high quality work to tight deadlines and when under pressure.

  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong IT skills including Excel & PowerPoint.

  • Polished, professional demeanor, projects confidence and enthusiasm for the business.

  • Creative background useful.

  • 5+years’ account management experience, ideally in a creative agency.
