This job was posted by https://www.arjoblink.arkansas.gov : For more information, please see: https://www.arjoblink.arkansas.gov/ada/r/jobs/2341094 The Parking Ambassador is a member of the Parking Operations team and is responsible for providing direct customer service with Pay Stations and Exit Verifiers as well as answering general questions regarding the UAMS Facilities and Parking regulations. They also enforce UAMS Parking regulations by issuing warning and/or citations for illegal parking, identifying scofflaws, and applying boots to vehicles; and also performs lot counts for available parking spaces and reports any maintenance items.Responsibilities:1.Provides direct customer service with parking deck equipment including automated pay stations and exit verifiers.2.Assists customers by providing way finding directions on the UAMS campus.3.Monitors parking areas and issue warnings and/or citations for illegal parkers (such as employees and students parked in visitor parking spaces, etc.).4.Identifies scofflaws on the boot list and install boot as needed.5.Assures safety in parking facilities by reporting unsafe driving practices, speeding, etc., and reports suspicious activity to supervisor/parking office.6.Assists in assuring proper maintenance of facilities and equipment. 7.Performs routine maintenance tasks which include but are not limited to; factory recommended preventive maintenance procedures, replacing broken gate arms, clearing ticket jams, replacing tickets in dispensing devices, maintaining the appearance of parking equipment and high traffic areas, etc.8.Performs lot counts to identify available spaces and report to manager.9.Assists department with Special Event management. Duties include but are not limited to; overseeing event attendee access into specific parking areas, coordinating with others to redirect event attendees to secondary parking areas, managing traffic flow, assisting customers with directions, maintaining consistent and timely status reporting to supervisor.10.May perform other duties as assigned including managing inclement weather.*Minimum Qualifications:*High School diploma/GEDCurrent and Valid Arkansas Driver's License*Competencies:*Basic computer skills with a general knowledge of Microsoft Office softwareAbility to communicate and maintain a good rapport with the campus populationThis position is subject to a pre-employment criminal background [and registry (if applicable)] check [and drug screen (if safety sensitive position)].
