This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Lincoln, Nebraska region. The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. The ideal candidate for this position can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Major responsibilities

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

  • CPA required

  • SEC Reporting experience

  • Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Experience with financial reporting

  • GAAP Accounting experience preferred

  • Deep understanding of GAAP (STAT)

  • Expertise in IPO
