The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for Business Unit (BU) projects throughout the entire project life cycle (from quote hand off to project close); providing customer support; leading project-related communications, and taking full project management ownership of related activities performed by multi-disciplined cross functional teams.
Primary objectives are to manage project scope and scope changes, performance to schedule and budget, to satisfy the customer with the performance of the product equipment and the services provided, and to deliver business financial results that meet or exceed JR?s expectation for awarded projects.
Interface appropriately with Account Managers to manage customers.
Establish and manage project objectives, functional specification, schedule, budget and resources.
Assist Sales and Applications in concepting, proposals, quotations and presentations.
Direct everyday operations of project to monitor compliance to customer requirements and expectations.
Inform customer of project status on a regular basis.
Meet with the project team on a weekly basis to coordinate project activities and to assure the project schedule is maintained.
Maintain a record of project activities in the project notebook, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Manage project costs versus established budgets and project cash flow positions.
Required to assemble and manage cross-functional project teams and support-oriented departments or organizations.
Total responsibility for all project or program expenditures.
Estimate projected manpower and material costs required to complete the project, and report status to management on a regular basis.
Prepare and submit Engineering Change Orders to the customer for project scope changes.
Bachelors' degree in Engineering or Management or 7+ years experience in engineering related to special production machinery.
At least 5 years of experience managing/leading/overseeing projects within an applicable industry.
A minimum of 3 years experience in customer negotiations and marketing related efforts.
Computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel, Project, etc.
