The Sales Director is responsible for managing a staff of Agent Managers and support personnel. This position reports to the Regional Sales Director and is accountable for the Nevada. The Sales Director oversees the field distribution staff to include Individual Sales Representatives, Independent Captive Agents and External Distribution.

The Sales Director position has monthly and annual sales target objectives and is responsible for ensuring all distribution channels meet the targets while maintaining our marketing and compliance guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for meeting/exceeding business targets for market; ensures membership goals are met primarily through the acquisition of new members but also through effectively and efficiently managing sales-related member migration/retention programs in a market. Manages acquisition cost, investments and spend by appropriately allocating and managing fixed and variable costs associated with staff, marketing, community programs, etc.

  • Develop and execute sales business plan for a single market; proactively develops and execute strategic, comprehensive sales business plan for market that will be used to achieve/exceed sales goal; revises plans and strategies as dictated by market changes, sales results and other factors. Monitor sales results, trends and key performance indicators and holds themselves and others accountable for achieving targets

  • Effectively manage direct and indirect sales resources; ensure identification and acquisition of resources as needed to execute approved sales business plan

  • Ensure Compliance; ensure staff adheres to selling guidelines associated with Medicare regulations, partner expectations and company policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • An active Life and Health License for the state of Nevada

  • Seasoned sales professional with 5+ years of demonstrated successful sales leadership experience

  • 3+ years of Medicare experience

  • Goal oriented and proven track record of success

  • Strategic and consultative approach to thinking and interactions; solution oriented

  • Superior interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills

  • Confidence and strong ability to present to and interact with consultants, brokers, decision makers and leadership across UHC and UHG

  • High level of expertise in sales techniques, product knowledge, procedures and administration as well an ongoing commitment to education, training and development activity

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time across assigned market(s) or as required

  • Bachelor's Degree
