The Traffic Ops will be responsible for understanding and implementing the “Traffic Management Plan” (TMP) which has been approved by all governmental agencies associated with the ingress and egress of EDC Las Vegas, 2019. In addition, the traffic ops, will provide direction to all contracted employees involved with the guest experience as it relates to parking. Shall provide timely response to traffic incidents within the network of parking locations and assume a primary role of the traffic team, clearance of incidents, identify issues related to crowd management as it affects the ingress/egress of vehicular traffic. Also to identify issues relation to any criminal activity (Burglary from motor vehicle, vandalism, etc.) and relaying detailed information to law enforcement personnel.
The primary parameters for traffic ops is not limited to within the Las Vegas Speedway grounds but will extend to adjacent freeway entrances and exits, access driveways to highways and streets adjacent the L.V. Speedway. Additionally, the role will be to assess any issue regarding vehicular and pedestrian traffic congestion and mitigate and relay all information to the traffic tower management in a quick and expeditious manner.
Traffic Ops may also provide direction as it relates to crowd control during emergencies to make sure fire and rescue workers can safely respond to any emergencies within the perimeter of the venue.
Be prepared to work up to 16 hour shifts
Check government issued IDs to ensure proper identification of all personnel entering site
Promptly solve issues that arise by utilizing resources and clear communication. Ensuring the safety and security of all patrons and employees.
Oversee and direct the implementation of the approved TMP and to have a full understanding of the goals set forth by Insomniac Management.
Interact with all law enforcement entities as well as contracted employees in a combined effort to resolve all traffic issues.
Assist in administrative tasks as needed
Ensure that all checked out equipment (golf cart) and materials are returned in good condition to the issuing department
Active or Retired law enforcement personnel with a working knowledge of traffic management
Ability to lift or assist in lifting equipment if/when needed to facilitate traffic patterns
Extremely organized, with understanding of vehicular traffic mapping
Multi-tasker who can direct personnel to resolve any traffic issue at different locations
Strong verbal and communication skills
Must be motivated with the ability to command stressful situations on a moments notice.
Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for issues large and small
The ability to professionally interact with all levels of Law Enforcement.
The ability to be courteous to all employees assisting with all matters related to parking, traffic ingress / egress and the ability to de-escalate situations before they become unpleasant
Employee must know and follow job safety procedures, attend required health and safety trainings, proactively promote safety at work, and promptly report actual and potential accidents and injuries
