MGM Resorts International Cook - Cravings (PT) (The Mirage) in Las Vegas, Nevada

It is the primary responsibility of the Cook –Cravings is to prepare food items according to the menu; recipe standards and customer request while ensuring preparation and service are of the highest possible quality in a timely manner. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Mirage policies, practices and procedures.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of menu items and recipes.

  • Work rapidly and accurately.

  • Utilize proper food handling techniques following Health and Safety Standards.

  • Maintain proper stocking of assigned station and know the mise en place.

  • Clean, maintain and organize work area.

  • Assist Chef in menu preparation, service and breakdown of function.

  • Maintain the ability to work in public on live stations and maintain proper appearance standards.

  • Maintain safety and Health Department standards.

  • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.

  • Engage, entertain and inspire all who visit The Mirage by making a focused commitment to C.A.R.E..

  • Perform all other job related duties as requested.


  • At least 2 years of high-volume cooking/fine dining experience.

  • Ability to work without direct supervision.

  • Working knowledge of basic kitchen equipment and the ability to read, translate and execute recipes.

  • Working knowledge of advanced cooking techniques.

  • Must possess a full knife set and advanced knife skills (cut, dice, mince and slice).

  • Working knowledge of Food and Beverage preparation and presentation.

  • Excellent customer skills.

  • Have interpersonal skill to deal effectively with all business contacts.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both in written and oral form.


  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
