UnitedHealth Group Accounts Receivable Clerk (Pharmacy Billing) - Las Vegas, NV in Las Vegas, Nevada

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable for Southwest Medical Pharmacy

  • Understand and comply with all governmental, regulatory and company billing and compliance regulations / policies including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid programs

  • Review of HCFAs and patient invoices for appropriate coding, charges, allowables, co-pays and supporting documentation

  • Review and log ICD-10 Coding errors and related correspondence and corrective actions taken to ensure proper payment

  • Follow-up with payors, patients and other appropriate parties to collect open billings in a timely manner and to ensure compliance with billing regulations

  • Identify and report to management payor issues with regards to billing and collection

  • Responsible for chart audits, review billing edit and bills on hold report

  • Communicate in writing and by telephone with patients for resolution of billing or customer service issues

  • Obtain authorization for services to be performed from insurance payers

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

  • Responsible for payment posting, credits, and working insurance and private ATBs

  • Claims preparation and processing

  • Applies knowledge/skills to activities that often vary from day to day

  • Demonstrates a moderate level of knowledge and skills in own function

  • Solves routine problems on own

  • Works with supervisor to solve more complex problems

  • Prioritizes and organizes own work

Required Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of Medical billing experience

  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Billing experience highly preferred

  • Requires little assistance with standard and non-standard requests

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
