The primary responsibility of the Fiscal Analyst 2 is to performfinancial services for Pierce College Foundation (a 501(c)(3) ) and INVISTA Performance Solutions, a non-profit joint venture. As a Fiscal Analyst 2, duties include maintaining both organizations' general ledgers, preparation of deposits, processing of accounts payable, interpreting of agency accounting and financial reports of the college. The Fiscal Analyst 2 works independently andreports directly to the Fiscal Analyst 4.This is a Districtposition thatrequires regular and consistent attendance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Foundation Accounting: Maintain ledger accounts and analyze fiscal data. Develop or recommend working procedures to improve fiscal operations. Assist higher-level staff with financial summary information, analysis of financial reports and development of working fiscal procedures. Review and process vendor payment claims. Analyze, review and make recommendations for the accelerations of revenue transfers. Prepare journal vouchers reflecting expenditures and transfers of funds. May review trial balances and prepare adjusting entries. Reconcile fixed assets. Assist the Fiscal Analyst 4 with fiscal year end closing. Assist auditors when necessary. INVISTAAccounting: Maintain ledger accounts and analyze fiscal data. Develop or recommend working procedures to improve fiscal operations. Assisthigher-level staff with financial summary information, analysis of financial reports and development of working fiscal procedures. Review and process vendor payment claims. Special Assignments: Assist Fiscal Analyst 4 with Fixed Asset Maintenance and Physical Inventory including removal of items for surplus. Performa Physical Inventory in accordance with State Administrative and Accounting Manual 30.45 with other Fiscal Services staff. Prepare all Fiscal Services documents for archival. Participate with and serve as backup for other Fiscal Services Department activities. Complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Fiscal Services, Vice President of Administrative Services, Budget Analyst 4, and Fiscal Analyst 5. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications: Some college level coursework including 15 quarter or 10 semester hours in accounting. Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience working with financial data. Ability to interpret and explain applicable state and federal regulations.
