National University Learning and Development Specialist, La Jolla in La Jolla, California
Position Summary: Work with cross functional teams to drive learning actions and initiatives, enabling continued growth and development of our talent. Must demonstrate strong project management skills, content development capabilities, along with facilitation and presentation skills. Ability to measure content effectiveness and identify gaps to recommend and create learning solutions to improve retention, job performance, leader effectiveness and overall employee experience.
Develop and delivers employee online and instructor-led programs, such as New Employee Orientation.
Identify skill or knowledge gaps within departments and develops learning programs to meet needs.
Develop, updates and facilitates training programs for various staff levels.
Responsible to ensure 100% compliance of state and federal mandated training.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
Develop promotional material for internal communication. Develop content for internal website, and PowerPoint presentations.
Determines appropriate instructional procedures and methods for all learning programs.
Develop and maintains training manuals, reference resources, testing and evaluation procedures, visual aids and other learning materials.
Develop tracking system to ensure compliance and provides reports on talent development. Research vendors, resources and materials.
Develop feedback surveys to assess training effectiveness. Assist in analysis of survey data for continuous improvement and implement best practices.
Education & Experience
Bachelor?s degree required in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in the development, assessment, designing, and facilitation of training programs for small and large groups.
Technical / Functional Skills
Knowledge of design and learning methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate interactive training and webinars.
Online training development experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Video conferencing preferred.
Design, Delivery and Assessment: Ability to develop curriculum for various levels of organization. Translates concepts and information into learning curriculum; Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively. Demonstrates great attention to detail and follow through.
Customer Service: addresses customer needs in a prompt, positive and timely manner. Manages difficult internal customer situations; solicits customer feedback for process improvement.
Oral Communication: knowledge of business acumen. Ability to listen and obtain clarification, receives and provides feedback well.
Written Communication: Writes clearly and professional; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; ability to read and interpret written information accurately.

Physical Demands / Environment
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal. The work is performed in an office environment.
Travel: UP to 10% travel (2 days/month) to local offices
