Job Description:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Work Experiences:

  • 3+ years previous payroll work experience

  • FPC preferred


  • Customer focused and capable of providing outstanding customer service

  • Knowledge of payroll, accounting and math principles

  • Knowledge of laws governing payment of wages

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to interface effectively with individuals at various levels

  • Ability to research answers (investigate system/laws/policy)

  • Ability to work well independently, as well as effectively contribute to a team environment

  • Analytical with strong problem solving abilities and creative resolution skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure while consistently meeting time sensitive deadlines

  • Ability to remain organized, pay attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment

  • Strong Microsoft Office program experience, including Excel and Word

  • Effectively use general office equipment – 10 key, copy, printer, scanner and phone


  • Responsible for processing payroll for specific groups as assigned

  • Input payroll data including deductions and changes to earnings

  • Maintain time and attendance and other payroll support records and archive/file as needed

  • Provide administrative garnishment function support as needed

  • Generate deductions from team member’s pay for loan repayments and garnishments; prepare electronic funds transfer for payment

  • Calculate payroll tax deductions in accordance with Federal and State laws

  • Research payroll issues found on exception reports and takes corrective action

  • Respond to questions from team members regarding issues affecting their pay

  • Support time off inquiries and assist team members with incoming questions regarding leave balances

  • Maintain computerized data files to track payroll and leave balances

  • Maintain hard-copy and electronic payroll files per established procedures

  • Calculate, prepare and verify bi-weekly and off-cycle runs for exceptions, retro pay

  • Balance payroll reports

  • Prepare and distribute computer generated reports

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy’s policies, procedures and safety rules

  • Duties may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned

  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
