Manager - Digital Content
H&R Block is looking for an experienced leader who is passionate about storytelling and delivering personalized experiences that are differentiated and engaging to help clients accomplish their tasks with ease and confidence. Lead a team of writers who are highly motivated, innovative, and who drive the end-to-end experience for H&R Block’s various tax services.
You will help define the conversation between H&R Block and our customers. You and your team will create the varied content that delivers our client experience, including screen, help, voice, video, and more. As a leader, you’ll actively look for ways you and your team can improve the interactions we have with our clients throughout the products and services we deliver. You’ll be a key partner to the product, design, and development teams, helping them with content, storytelling, and defining the narrative of the tax prep experience.
What you'll do...
Know the experience roadmaps – Founded in the needs of H&R Block clients, our roadmaps ensure alignment with H&R Block’s objective to help individuals easily prepare and file their taxes.
Know the experience – Understand where customers are, where they’ve been, where they want to go, and help craft the conversation that best meets them where they want to be.
Know the business – Work closely with the design team, product owners, marketing, research, the customer service organization, and the development team to cultivate relationships in order to drive progress against the content strategy and product roadmap.
Know your numbers - Assess/measure content effectiveness. Collaborate with business owners for measurement and analytics. Make recommendations based on those results.
Collaborate with business owners to develop and execute a comprehensive, integrated content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term.
Leverage market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan that leads to critical customer behavioral metrics. Develop standards, systems and best practices for content creation, distribution, maintenance, sun-setting, and content repurposing, including real-time implementation of the content strategy.
Understand and move to include innovative ways to communicate – Explore and analyze the value of incorporating emerging communication mediums that will deepen the relationship between H&R Block and our customers.
Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for our user experience for all channels including online, email, mobile, video, print, and more.
Develop innovative content solutions that allow H&R Block to remain competitive in the marketplace.
Develop a functional, integrated 365-day content calendar throughout the products you support.
Lead a content producing team.
Conduct annual and quarterly reviews. Coordinate seasonal and permanent hiring process.
What you'll bring to the role...
Bachelor’s degree in related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience
5-7+ years content development/copy writing experience with increasing levels of responsibility
5-7+ years of digital experience
3-5+ years of team leadership
