Assoc QA Analyst - Seasonal
H&R Block, the world’s leader in tax preparation services, is looking for a seasonal QA Analyst (Hardware). This position is located at our corporate headquarters, in the premier downtown Power & Light District of Kansas City, where everything is either steps or a streetcar ride away. Quality Control is responsible for providing comprehensive inspection and testing of all computer equipment repaired at Technology Services facility. Managing work flow received from multiple technicians in a timely and efficient and safe manner. Requires a very high attention to detail and positive attitude.
What you’ll do…
Inspect and test repaired computer equipment according to specific Repair Depot specifications and manufacturers specifications.
Use proprietary H&R Block quality control test programs to diagnose equipment repaired by technicians as well as new hardware received from vendors to ensure a high standard of manufacturing quality.
Ensure a quality product is passed into the ready-to-ship inventory by following written processes and enforcing established quality control procedures.
Package all equipment inspected by Quality Control into clean bags.
Generate a Quality Assurance Report for tested and inspected equipment.
Generate and attach a Quality Assurance Report to equipment that has failed inspection.
Evaluate cosmetics and alignment of hard case panels on all equipment.
Mandatory overtime as the business volume dictates and at management discretion.
Perform daily spot checks of outbound shipments to ensure shipping orders are filled with the correct equipment, packaging and labeling.
Hardware Management, Box, unbox, stack, put away, scan.
Must have experience with 1D and 2D hand held bar code scanners.
What you’ll bring to the role…
High School diploma or GED.
Minimum of two years as a Quality Control Inspector or IT hardware testing or equivalent training and/or experience.
General knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating environment and Microsoft Office Suite products.
General understanding of QC processes and procedures.
General understanding of internal computer components and external computer peripherals and other IT hardware.
Working knowledge of computer diagnostic software
Demonstrated analytical abilities and a strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. Waist high repeatedly.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, bend, squat, reach, carry, etc.
Proven team player promotes/fosters a positive work environment and maintains good working relationships.
