What You Will Do
Medical assistants are a treasured resource to our healthcare system. As our Medical Assistant (MA), you will be entrusted with being the warm and welcoming connection between the patient and healthcare team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
CertifiedBLS Providercredentialed from theAmerican Heart Association (AHA)obtained within1 Month (30 days)of hire date or job transfer date.
CertifiedMedical Assistantcredentialed from theAmerican Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
Education & Work Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Prefer AAS degree In Medical Assisting, or completed an equivalent training program, with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a medical office setting.
Working knowledge of medical terminology; knowledge of basic patient care and medical office practice and procedures; good telephone etiquette required.
Working experience in a medical office setting preferred.
Must be a certified medical assistant with a minimum of one year medical office experience, preferably in orthopedics.
