Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Office Engineer to be based in our Jersey City, NJ location. This is for the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail project.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, may complete engineering assignments of limited complexity.

  • Applies a beginning level of understanding within a specific discipline.

  • Understands project scope as presented within a specific discipline.

  • Provides support for client’s engineering deliverables.

  • Introduced to business development concepts and is able to support proposals.

  • Limited familiarity with codes, permits and software applications related to the discipline.

  • Introduced to the work sequence, general content, and methods used to generate specifications for purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within engineer’s discipline.

  • Introduced to the process of preparing calculations within a specific discipline.

  • Qualified candidate must be willing to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, or otherwise as required.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering plus 2 years of engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to work independently

  • Must be able to read drawings

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office

  • Candidate must possess a valid Driver’s License, with no suspensions or moving violations within the past 3 years.

  • A Certified Driver’s Abstract is required to validate driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FE (EIT) Certificate

  • Construction project experience

  • Primavera 6 (P6) software experience

  • AutoCAD or MicroStation experience

Additional Information:

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

  • Relocation and per diem support are not available for this position.
