Henry Ford Health System Laboratory Shift Supervisor - Full Time/Night Shift - Allegiance Health - Jackson, MI in Jackson, Michigan

Responsible for providing leadership in the coordination of departmental activities and the resolution of operational issues. Integrates decisions of committees into the operation and activities of the department. Assures effective operations of the laboratory on an off shift. Performs analytical testing on patient specimens in any or all of the clinical laboratory disciplines.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university

Minimum Work Experience:

Three (3) years’ experience as a medical technologist and knowledge of current professional laboratory theory, procedures and techniques.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Registry by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and/or certification by NCA

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet software. Analytical skills necessary to collect, tabulate, and analyze data to determine and implement effective action and solutions. Demonstrates leadership ability, communications, and interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with physicians, management, staff, external agencies/customers and patients/families. Analyzes costs and work schedules and set priorities. Responsible for departmental personnel matters pertaining to the employment, training, termination and grievance of employees.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of hospital operations, policies and procedures.
