Main function of this position is to help/assist anyone who comes at the Spa Building and be able to guide & direct guests to the right direction.

QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred.

Experience: No prior experience required. Prior guest service or other hospitality experience preferred. Must have positive attitude and smile.

Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance (specific standards available).

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move towels, chairs and straighten pool and patio equipment continuously throughout shift.

Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform essential job functions.

Sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload towels from bins and put into proper place.

Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Welcome guests to the Sports Complex. Assist with directing them to correct outlet. Primarily focus on main entrance, greet each and every person.

Approach and greet customers immediately with a friendly smile and sincere welcome. Bid guests good-bye when leaving and invite them to return. Act as enforcer to all Pool and Locker Room regulations. This includes constant walk throughs of Pool Deck, Patio, and Locker Rooms. Remain calm and attentive, especially during heavy resort activity and emergencies.

Check in Sports Complex guests. This includes overseeing sign in and administering of keys for lockers.

Exhibit positive, friendly, smiling behavior at all times. Visually inspect lobby and entrance way and communicate with Recreation Supervisor and Director if maintenance is needed.

Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, other resort services, directions to local attractions or meeting rooms. Exhibit positive, friendly, smiling behavior at all times.

Pick up towels, straighten chairs and dispose of trash and newspapers in lobby and exterior areas. Assist Spa by organizing laundry bins, placing clean towels on shelves, and any extra assistance they may need. Assist housekeeping with broom or rag clean up and trash can emptying as needed.

Must understand and follow all company policies and procedures, meeting all guest standards.

Be attentive to Basketball Court and Fitness Center. Enforce all age limits in Fitness Center. Make constant walk throughs of these two areas and pick up towels and trash as needed.

Must provide a safe environment for both guests and associates, by following all company safety policies and procedures. This position is constantly moving to insure that all areas are clean and well kept.

Promptly answer telephone calls with a smile, cheerfully and professionally, speaking proper English, greet callers with a positive and clear voice, “thank you for calling the Pool Desk, this is __ how may assist you?”

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Benchmark from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Benchmark rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of resort facilities. Employees who violate Resort rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the resort.

Clean windows and other equipment used in the department.

Answer all guest questions about local attractions and area.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor such as assisting in cleaning, emptying trash cans and keeping pool and lobby area free of trash, newspapers, and glasses/dishes.
