Microsoft Corporation Sr Manager, D&I - India in Hyderabad, India

The purpose for this role is to deploy and advise on the One Microsoft D&I strategy for designated geographic region(s) ensuring a strategic and core and common approach. The Global D&I Manager is the face of the discipline and is seen as a prominent thought leader and enterprise subject matter expert within their region(s).

They have a close relationship with HR across Microsoft, providing D&I support and guidance to find data-driven solutions that shape and drive cultural change across the entire ecosystem, and influencing the buy-in and adoption of those solutions. They influence and consult HR on best practices and emerging trends to activate D&I across the HR lifecycle and provide consultation on highly complex or sensitive inquiries regarding diversity and inclusion needs or issues. They consult on diversity and inclusion policies and experiences in partnership with Legal, Real Estate & Facilities, or other teams, contribute to policy innovation, advise HR and leadership on compliance and educate stakeholders on impact of changes. They work across leadership teams and business units, leading dialogues with HR and the most senior executives about diversity needs, priorities, and opportunities to drive clarity and ensure strong partnerships and the adoption of recommendations. Their strong network and partnerships across the company in their geographic region are critical to ensuring a common understanding of initiatives. They lead communities of practice within their region to scale influence. They also collaborate with HR in their region to determine needs for readiness and efficiency, extracts insights to inform D&I strategy design, and take ownership and final accountability for the strategic direction. As needed, they resolve critical diversity issues escalated from business units. They analyze a wide variety of data using diversity and inclusion tools and methodologies, such as competitive benchmarking and Microsoft poll data, providing insights to stakeholders and recommending solutions in support of the D&I strategy.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the D&I thought leader supporting geographic region(s)

  • Deploy and activate ad One Microsoft D&I strategy for region(s), ensuring a core and common approach

  • Lead with data-based insights and recommendations; including sentiment analysis and poll/pulse related quantitative and qualitative input as available (through reporting and listening systems)

  • Partner with regional HR leadership team to activate D&I across the HR lifecycle through the role of the HRBP and Lines Solutions Teams

  • Consult and partner with HR leaders in their geography driving the D&I core & common strategy for the organization

  • Consult in partnership with HR to regional business leadership team to drive accountability and ownership

  • Enable diverse talent ROB for One Microsoft Talent Talk across spectrum of diversity, in partnership with the talent function

  • Lead community of practice within region to upskill and create clarity with broader HR line function for scale and influence

  • Collaborate with Innovation and Partnerships as well as Global Outreach and Community Engagement (GOCE) Leaders to ensure D&I coherence for international markets by activating international ERG effectiveness and optimizing strategic partnerships

  • Consult and partner with HR, benefits and Real Estate & Facilities teams to ensure industry leading employee experience

  • Monitor and report on quarterly results across D&I in partnership with leadership team

  • Serve as an ambassador to Microsoft in external engagements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field AND 10+ years of relevant HR or business experience OR Associate's Degree AND 12+ years of relevant HR or business experience

Preferred Capabilities:

  • Deep expertise in and passion for Diversity and Inclusion strategy and programmes with clear evidence of delivering impactful outcomes in this space

  • Strong Business Acumen

  • Critical Systems thinking: the ability to understand, develop, and influence processes and models to achieve desired outcomes
