Project Overview:

The Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program is the Minuteman III replacement system led by the United States Air Force. Our team is supporting the mission to replace the entire weapon system and refurbish the existing ground systems infrastructure. The GBSD Project will be located in Huntsville, AL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment with oversight from more senior engineers.

  • Develop, review and coordinate documents with suppliers, other disciplines and customers.

  • Proficient with basic engineering deliverables such as drawings, specifications and calculations.

  • Performs electrical engineering design, including the development of single line diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, connection diagrams, load lists, etc.

  • Develops material requisitions and specifications for non-standard equipment and bills of material for off-the-shelf equipment and components.

  • Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, material requisitions and system descriptions related to design tasks.

  • Conducts document and design checking as required.

  • Demonstrates leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.

  • Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:

Grade 23

  • BS degree in Electrical engineering with 1 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be a United States citizen, no dual citizenship accepted.

  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

  • Possesses a DOD Secret Clearance or can obtain one upon hire.

Grade 24

  • BS degree in Electrical engineering with 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be a United States citizen, no dual citizenship accepted.

  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

  • Possesses a DOD Secret Clearance or can obtain one upon hire.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with Revit design tools.

  • Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs.

  • Knowledge and application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.

  • Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics and electrical equipment layouts.

  • Understanding of engineering discipline drawings and calculations.

  • Familiar with industry wide electrical design tools, such as CAD 2D and electronic Cable Management System.

  • Excellent oral & written communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Grade 23 - MS degree in Electrical engineering.

  • Grade 24 - MS degree in Electrical engineering with 1 year of relevant experience.

  • EIT/FE registration.

  • Experience with ETAP and system calculations such as short circuit and load-flow.

  • Experience with developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact.

  • Experience with SETROUTE program and be able to input and complete corrections to the data base.

  • Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience

  • B Cert - Engineer
