Job Description

Leads worldwide procurement efforts for the global enterprise by managing overall procurement strategy including supplier selection and maintenance; designs and executes strategies and plans to meet company’s short-term and long-term supply chain and vendor management objectives.

  • Collaborates with each business unit to lead centralized sourcing and procurement efforts.

  • Drives supply analysis/strategy, supplier identification, negotiation, sourcing/purchase execution, delivery planning and monitoring, and ongoing performance management and improvement.

  • Builds and manages a team of senior sourcing and procurement professionals, local and remote, who will work with company business units and suppliers.

  • Establishes and maintains good relationships with sales managers to ensure that procurement gets aligned with their objectives, and enlists their support and resources in participating in supply chain improvement efforts.

  • Identifies evolving best practices and transforms the supply chain organization from one that is regionally driven to one that is led by a center of excellence.

Essential Functions

  • Implements a fully functional supply chain management infrastructure that includes maintenance and accuracy of vendor, product, pricing and forecast data in the company’s ERP system.

  • Creates, maintains and organizes a world class supply base.

  • Develops and trains staff on organizational procurement strategy.

  • Creates and improves best-practice based processes.

  • Identifies and executes cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities.

  • Selects and manages procurement systems and software.

  • Manages procurement personnel in (and across) sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, supplier management, and miscellaneous internal and external procurement support activities.

  • Creates and manages talent acquisition process in coordination with HR to ensure that the right resources are hired and retained.

  • Manages the skills and competency development of procurement staff.

  • Leads cross-functional teams related to purchasing or other business functions and initiatives.

  • Manages budget/P&L as it relates to procurement.

  • Develops KPIs to be used for continuous improvement.

Required Skills


  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred

  • Team player at executive levels to collaborate with business units and functional partners like Sales, IT, finance, HR, legal, etc.

  • Leadership, operational management and general business skills.

  • Working knowledge of finance and accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, risk management, etc.

  • In-depth industry knowledge in terms of electronics and buy/sell, but also internal knowledge related to company history and culture.

  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices including modern sourcing, procurement and inventory management systems.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, specifically using listening skills to understand internal and external customer requirements.

  • Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements; ability to understand standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk.

  • Analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills, but with creativity to seek, encourage and find non-traditional approaches that can strategically improve business practices.

  • Skilled in change management with the ability to positively influence a dynamic set of stakeholders.
