Linde Engineering North America Inc Scheduling Manager in Houston, Texas

Responsible for overall successful operation of the Scheduling Department, including all company subsidiaries and divisions, in accordance with corporate strategies/guidelines and management objectives.

The Scheduling Manager shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Manages Project Schedulers, and Shop Scheduler/ indirect field cost control and schedule support (jointly “project control”) for given projects. - Directs team members and generates/updates department work flows and procedures. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with project needs.

  • Directs department team members in generating/updates of department deliverables.

  • Directs Scheduling department in continuous improvement processes/methodologies such as Six Sigma.

  • Develops and maintains key stake holder relationships (Operations, Project Management, etc.)

  • Provide project schedule support for projects and/or proposals.

  • Support corporate capacity planning.

  • Assist in development of project control strategies, procedures, and tools.

  • Support Project Control policies, ensure compliance and verify appropriate work instructions are created and/or modified for ISO Quality requirements.

  • Comply with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.

  • Assist in hiring, training and developing staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with Head of Project Controls and Human Resources as appropriate.

  • Facilitate regular meetings to provide information related to ensuring technical standardization of Project Controls deliverables.

  • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience supervising the project control, scheduling, cost forecasting, or project management function for an engineering, construction, or industrial company.

  • Hands-on experience in project control in an EPC Oil and Gas environment preferred.

  • Advance understanding of industry standards/ best practices for Scheduling, EVM, Change Mgt. (Estimating), and Risk Mgt.

  • Advance knowledge of the tools implemented in the industry. Advanced knowledge of how the department needs to keep project deliverables consistent in the industry.

  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications, e.g. Primavera P6.

  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective organization skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work.

  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
