The Bergaila Companies Reciprocating Gas Compression Designer in Houston, Texas
We are currently seeking a Reciprocating Gas Compression Designer for a leading engineering and manufacturing company based in Houston, TX. With operations in over seven regions around the world, our client’s expertise encompasses field production facilities, compression and natural gas processing plants, CO processing plants, refrigeration systems and electric power equipment serving the natural gas production industry.
The Reciprocating Gas Compression Designer will be responsible for:
Fully proficient designer that creates mechanical/electrical designs for new product parts, subassemblies, assemblies or systems configurations using AutoCad, CADWorx 3-D piping or manual systems; compiling bills of materials; assisting in the assembly of prototypes.
Generating complex drawings of reciprocating compression packages and related components with minimal supervision from design engineer.
Supporting the department by studying engineering sketches, specifications and supporting documents in order to design, detail, document and verify mechanical/electrical parts, subassemblies, assemblies or systems configurations.
Preparing drawing bills of material for data input into MRP system.
Capable of acquiring measurements and completing as-built drawings for finished products.
Ensuring quality of drawings and functionality of equipment; tests and analyzes results; performs various calculations, such as weights of materials, frequently using charts and tables; analyzes the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/or interference problems; recommending possible solutions or alternate construction; modifies drawings as requested; confers with engineers to resolve issues; adheres to company policies and procedures.
Creating pressure vessel, structural skid and pipe spool details; creates 3-Dimensional models; creates fabrication drawings depicting relationship of components and parts; identifies dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerance, and materials; prepares bills of materials and specifications; creates documentation required and processes engineering change orders; ensures adherence to designated quality and cost parameters.
Working directly with project engineers, purchasing, fabrication shop, outside fabricators to coordinate with project designs.
Must comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Associate’s Degree in ME, Drafting, or related field with three to five years designing and documenting mechanical/electrical equipment, or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
3-5 years designing Skid Mounted Gas Compression Equipment
Proficient using AutoCAD 2017.
Requires thorough knowledge of drafting standards, geometric dimensioning, P&ID's, and AutoCAD software.
Experience with design of pressure vessels, skid mounted packages and structural design.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks.
Proficient using 2017 CADWorx Plant. (3-D Modeling)
Requires use of computers, drafting tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
Good organizational and planning skills.
Coordinate with others to accomplish objectives.
Proficient using 3-D CAD design. Ability to visualize in three dimensions.
Knowledge of valves, fittings, tubing and equipment used in product design and the required ratings and specifications at all design conditions.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
Proficient using complete Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and PC skills
Proficient with email system; Microsoft Outlook preferred
Self-motivated, ability to work under general supervision; close attention to detail
Clear and concise verbal and written communications
MRP system work background, SAP, Oracle, etc
Must be able to work under pressure
Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department Overtime as required
