Gyrodata Marketing Materials Specialist in Houston, Texas

Job Function / Purpose

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and Technical Services team to gather, organize, and document technical information and create written materials for technical conferences, thought leadership and article placement.

Essential Duties

  • Work with product line managers, engineering, OTS and Operations to write articles for publications and thought leadership pieces that showcase Gyrodata service solutions in variable of formats.

  • Edit technical abstracts and papers to be submitted for technical presentations

  • Ensures project timeliness to get all written documents submitted to deadlines

  • Create content from new and prior technical papers in form of thought leadership, articles, Q&A.

  • Ensures that technical documents are translated from English to native languages for our global locations.

HSE Function

  • Comply with applicable safety standards and maintain a safe working environment

  • Establish and maintain a culture that emphasizes compliance with all health, safety and environmental standards and respect for co-workers, clients and community

QA Function

  • Comply with applicable quality assurance standards

  • Works with SQMS, GDMS and other Quality systems

  • Maybe assigned author or contributor of standard operating procedures

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Journalism, PR, Communications

  • Proven work experience as a technical writer

  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Multitasking and analytical skills

  • Experience collaborating with technical experts

  • Ability to develop a work plan and report progress

  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work in a team environment and learn quickly

  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to use a computer for accessing and sending e-mail, opening and revising documents, accessing internet and web-based Gyrodata, Inc. systems, including SharePoint, Agresso and ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral Spanish communication skills

  • Bachelor?s Degree in Education, Marketing or Computer Science from an accredited 4 year college or university

Working Conditions

  • The job is performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards. The job requires some physical exertion, including sitting, standing, occasional light lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. The job requires operation of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, etc. The job requires following written and oral instructions, attention to detail, ability to multitask, ability to work with others and ability to meet deadlines. The job requires following established policies and procedures, meeting quality and safety standards and regular attendance.
