Serving as an instrument of local government cooperation, promoting the region’s orderly development and the safety and welfare of its citizens; our planning and service programs span a broad spectrum from transportation and homeland security planning to workforce development, assistance to the elderly, 9-1-1 service, watershed protection, and disaster recovery.
H-GAC is looking for a highly talented and driven individual to join our organization as a Contract Specialist in our Transportation Department. Through the cooperation with local governments, H-GAC’s Transportation Department improves the quality of life for residents across the region.
The Contract Specialist will be responsible for a variety of contract management and reporting tasks that include: reviewing state and federal contract required documentation, document review for compliance according to governmental contracts and regulations-audits, preparation and correspondence related to contract information request, contract preparation and entry into contract management system, meeting tight deadlines based on monthly cycles, and meeting with staff and other team members to support contract activities. This position is a support position and requires good communication skills with team members.
The successful candidate will have at a minimum:
Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field of study
Applicable experience may substitute for education
Three (3) years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
Preferred qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field of study
Five (5) years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
