Summary/General Description Of Job:
The incumbent performs a combination of physical and clerical and physical tasks to support departmental operations. Typical duties include verifies orders are accurately filled, insures shipments are properly packed, and keeps records of good shipped.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods.
Verifies that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents.
Insures that shipments are properly packaged and identified with shipping information.
Confirms shipments are loaded into transporting vehicles.
Prepares and keeps records of good shipped. (e.g., manifest, bills of lading).
Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records.
Checks for damaged goods.
Insures that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment.
Prepares and keeps records of goods received.
Performs other related work as assigned.
Timely and cost effective performance of duties.
Harmoniously working with other employees and customers.
Working with the Project Principals to fully coordinate all activities.
Effectively coordinate a number of projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
Contributing to the successful completion of project initiatives.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years clerical experience.
Two (2) years experience as a shipping and receiving clerk.
Intermediate skill in the use of Microsoft Office, and database programs.
Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level clearance.
Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
