Purpose of the Role:

This role is the finance business partner of the section management team. You support the delivery of a $0.5MM productivity target of our UK feedstock sites. Working closely with the Senior Finance Manager and the Plant Director, you are the driving force behind loss analyses, you challenge & control labour, material loss and section maintenance budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Being the financial leader within the section team through insight and challenge.

  • Ensuring that productivity targets are met through accurate forecasting & tracking.

  • Ensuring the section and finance team are aware of any opps & risks linked to productivity targets, volume recoveries and planned downtime through regular performance updates, allowing the Plant Leadership Team to react timely and accurately.

  • Driving visibility & control around current and future spend patterns across the section with a focus on the forward looking implications of overspends.

  • Challenging the section team to ensure an efficient balance between "must haves" and "nice to haves".

  • Tracking the section headcount and challenge temporary labour and overtime.

  • Managing key business processes including daily/weekly labour variances, material loss tracking, M&R planning and volume delivery.

  • Driving continuous improvement – identifying and addressing any areas of duplication, inefficiency or inconsistency across the plant.

  • Coaching section teams in order to own and control their productivity delivery.

  • Building strong relationships within the site section controlling team to take a joined up, proactive approach to avoid budget overspends.


Key Requirements :

  • You are educated to Degree Level (or equivalent).

  • You are preferably a Qualified accountant.

  • You are an excellent communicator and are able to partner and influence both Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders.

  • Experience of working within FMCG or Supply Chain is a plus.

  • You have solid controlling and forecasting experience.

  • You have a strong controls mind-set and knowledge of accounting policies and reporting.

This role is based in our Bournville plant, but will require extensive travelling to our factories in Chirk and Marlbrook. Alternatively, the role can also be based in Chirk.
