We are currently seeking a Report Drafting Associate to join our Genetic Toxicology department in Harrogate. This is a 12 month contact, full time based in our Harrogate site.

  • General Duties

  • Learns to use software tools to efficiently and accurately complete job duties. Types of software include word processing, spreadsheet, table generation, collaboration/sharing, and database applications

  • Associated CMS entries and records maintenance.

  • Report Preparation

  • Learns to prepare the study report using details described in the protocol, protocol amendments, and study communications and Covance or client-specific requirements

  • Learns to incorporate contributions (e.g., protocol, protocol amendments, certificates of analysis, contributor reports) into the draft report

  • Develops awareness of quality assurance inspection items on GLP-regulated studies

  • Develops awareness of the report finalization process and the delivery of materials to the archives

  • Learns to prepare report amendments

  • Learns to assist in the preparation of tabulated summaries in association with the study director

  • Data Table Preparation

  • Learns to prepare data tables including completing basic statistical analysis in table generation programs.

  • Learns to draft and quality check data tables that were manually prepared

  • Learns to review data tables for accuracy

  • Scheduling Responsibilities

  • Awareness of the reporting schedule and ensuring client expectations are met.

  • Learns to initiate and lead prewriting discussions with the Study Director, as required

  • Develops awareness of the processes for scheduling and coordinating study report drafting

Education / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Degree and/or experience in technical writing, document production/publishing, and/or science preferred. A minimum of English, Maths, and Science GCSEs, but preferably A level or above.


  • Basic knowledge of office software (e.g., Microsoft® Office, especially Word and Excel; Adobe® Acrobat®)

  • Attention to detail, time management skills, and organizational skills
