Description

JOB SUMMARY:

1. This occupation requires the fabrication and assembly of electrical and electronic parts, materials, hardware, wiring harnesses, components and sub-assemblies into completed assemblies in the manufacture and modification of electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical equipment, consoles, racks, vans, pylons, etc. Reliability, communications skills, workmanship, and good judgment are essential traits.

2. AEEs at all levels are expected to perform work at increasing levels of skill and complexity as they gain experience.

JOB DUTIES:

Responsible for, but not limited to:

1. Performing fabrication, assembly, installation and processing of electrical-electronic parts, materials, hardware, wiring harnesses and components into complete assemblies.

2. Laying out and fabricating jig boards used in the fabrication of single and multi-wire harnesses.

3. Interpreting electrical-electronic terminology, symbols and codes, technical orders, blueprints, and working with engineering personnel and technicians from preliminary drawings and schematics.

4. Trouble shooting, testing, reworking and modifying at levels that are consistent with an employee’s training, skills, certifications, and experience.

5. Working first article racks, consoles, vans, pylons, etc., where wire routing has not been predetermined.

6. Assisting higher rated employees in the performance of their duties.

7. Obtaining and maintaining certifications essential to accomplish required work.

8. Entering and retrieving production data into and from computer systems.

9. Employees who are assigned a Product Quality Verification (PQV) Level II certification by off (work performed meets specifications) their own work and verify the accuracy of work performed by non-certified/licensed employees, within their occupation. Level I employees will only buy off their own work.

10. Performing other work as assigned that is incidental to primary job duties or other assigned work that may be performed safely using tools that are commonly available.

11. Trains others.

12. Clean-up of work areas, tools, and equipment.

TOOLS, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:

1. Employees in this classification may work with all tools, machines, materials, equipment and instruments required to perform job duties.

2. Management may determine that specific training or certifications are required for certain work, jobs, tools, equipment, or assignments.

Qualifications

PREREQUISITES:

1. Normally requires two (2) years in various types of electrical-electronic fabrication and assembly.

2. Must have good visual and color perception and good manual dexterity.

3. Requires Product Quality Verification (PQV) Level II certification or must be able to become PQV Level II certified within 90 days.

4. Requires the ability to read and write in English. A detailed analysis of essential job function physical and environmental factors is on file in the Human Resources Department and the First Aid Center.

As with all positions at L3 Technologies, ISR Systems, candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
