Assumes full responsibility for evaluating patient s need for physical therapy. Plans and executes individual treatment programs in accordance with the laws and regulations of the State of Michigan. Develops treatment skills through continuing education, mentoring meetings with physical therapy staff, physicians and other appropriate clinicians. Spends .4FTE time conducting research under the advisement of Mary Free Bed Research Advisor as well as assisting in musculoskeletal and spine labs at Grand Valley State University. In addition, further didactic learning will be directed toward enhancing clinical reasoning through evidenced based learning and development of a case study to submit for publication by the end of the residency period.Essential Clinical Job Responsibilities: * Provides patient care. * Evaluates patient condition. * Establishes treatment objectives, written treatment plan, and administers treatment for each patient according to the stated objectives. Delegates responsibilities to physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation technicians as appropriate. * Re-evaluates patient's status and effects of treatment.
