Location: Chongqing, China

Job Summary

Seeking a dynamic preferably bi-lingual, individual to develop and lead a high performance Food & Beverage, Retail and Games team. Direct all Department operations, monitor sales, cost of goods, labor, and inventory to continually maximize profitability. Ensure department provides outstanding service, exceptional food, retail and games products, exceptional cleanliness, and an entertaining experience, to our guests and team.

Culinary Specific

  • Responsible for all culinary services operations in the theme park including catering facilities and department purchasing and warehousing functions as well as all games, retail stores, photo and lessee operations to maximize sales and profits.

  • Develops department specific business plans and ensures their coordination into the Park and Companywide goals

  • Develop and maintain financial budgets and annual business plans for operations and prepare and present monthly forecasts as required.

  • Assure profitability of department by closely monitoring sales, cost of goods, inventory, and labor.

  • Oversee staffing and control labor expenditures for department.

  • Manage, develop, and evaluate the performance of all full time and seasonal staff.

  • Ensure that all team members are properly trained and equipped to perform their job responsibilities.

  • Interface with Six Flags Corporate to ensure company goals are met

  • Develop and implement new and creative food concepts that keep pace with business trends

  • Participate in long range planning for continued net profit growth of the revenue for all culinary operations.

  • Develop, execute and coordinate Culinary CAPEX, from concept through completion, on-budget and on-time.

  • Support the company mantra; friendly, clean, fast and safe service.

  • Maintain guest satisfaction levels in all GSS scored categories

  • Develop and promote an entrepreneurial spirit by making recommendations targeting increased sales, profits and Guest service and satisfaction.

  • Ensure all Federal, State, Local, and park regulations are being adhered to within areas of responsibility.

  • Adhere to all department and company safety policies.

  • Serve as Park Duty manager as assigned.

Retail & Games Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • For retail and games business operations, specifically:

  • High energy, self-motivation, a strong work ethic and positive attitude are essential characteristics. A commitment towards continuous improvement.

  • Good instincts and analytical skills based on demonstrated leadership skills

  • Benchmark the retail and games offering in the surrounding area and consumer shopping trends of the local population.

  • Support execution of the product plan by product category for the park.

  • Execution of product development for the merchandise assortment breakdown by ride, by IP, by brand name.

  • Work collaboratively with the Six Flags Product Development Manager to understand the Six Flags logo brand guidelines, and further define written brand style guides for sharing with vendor base.

  • Work collaboratively with Six Flags Product Development Manager to leverage vendor data base and existing retail products that could be shared with Six Flags International Parks taking advantage of economy of scale and existing ongoing product development work.

  • Work on Product & Vendor sourcing.

  • Negotiate the best cost price, MOQ and terms with the selected suppliers

  • Work with freelance graphic designers and vendors design teams to create the different merchandise programs.

  • Monitor and follow up for each product development process until final sample approval.

  • Develop and implement buying plan for the department.

  • Maintaining the proper flow of inventory to maximize sales.

  • Develops plan-o-grams per vendor programs as necessary and coordinates the implementation with park managers and personnel.

  • Manage, develop, and evaluate the performance of all full time and seasonal staff.

  • Develop and maintain financial budgets and annual business plans and prepare and present monthly forecasts as required.

  • Develop, execute and coordinate retail and games CAPEX, from concept through completion, on-budget and on-time.

  • Direct the execution of the visual merchandising and product marketing efforts.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and communicate in Mandarin is highly desirable.

  • Bachelor’s degree in management (or related field) or equivalent management experience in retail or theme park industry.

  • Minimum 10 years merchandise / retail experience, including supervision / management, or related experience

  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be professional, energetic, self-motivated, able to motivate others, and have a positive attitude

  • Experience supervising large teams and interfacing with all levels of management

  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work productively across various departments

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple operations

  • Budget planning experience and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Flexible schedule required including nights, weekends, and holidays
