Job Description

Milgard Windows & Doors is seeking a full-time Production Worker to join our newest manufacturing facility in Grand Prairie, Texas!

An employee in the Insulated Glass (IG) Department performs work activities in relation to the cutting of glass and assembly of insulated glass units. An employee may perform a variety of manufacturing assignments


  • 2 -5 years of proven success in direct supervision with cutting and insulating glass panels in a window manufacturing facility.

  • Produce an insulated glass unit with minimal breakage.

  • Must be knowledgeable of lean manufacturing principles

  • Must possess ability to develop and share vision

  • Must have general knowledge of product and processing issues

  • Must be skilled in communication techniques, including but not limited to questioning/ listening, communicating through conflict, presentation skills, and how to get ideas across

  • Must be knowledgeable in the effective utilization of materials, equipment, information and people to meet daily departmental goals

  • Must be knowledgeable of all operating fundamentals, including safety rules, regulations, and responsibilities, productivity goals, quality goals and specifications.

  • Basic maintenance knowledge, including preventive maintenance and operator level troubleshooting.

  • Must understand how to place orders for scheduled tempered production and remake glass.

  • Must be able to sort and sequence raw glass into production-sequenced batches for IG department.

  • Basic maintenance knowledge, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting with glass carts


  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels

  • Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure

  • All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production

  • Flexible work availability (typically Monday through Friday with occasional weekends)

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred

  • 2-5 years of previous work experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or production facility, preferred
