Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer Staff / Grand Prairie, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join a Program Production Engineering team. This position will lead development manufacturing engineering activities and support a production program. Development activities will ensure a successful transition through major milestones of the contract. Production support will encompass the use of core manufacturing engineering competencies to meet or exceed customer and program requirements.

Development activities include, but not limited to, proposal of effort, tooling, and events, Design for Manufacturing analysis, transition new or revised designs from drawing to production, collaboration with other functions and the customer, creating Manufacturing Engineering Statement of Work documents, building Make or Buy documents, and ensuring customer and program requirements are met.

Support of a production program will require producibility analysis of processes and tooling, as well as comparison of engineering requirements against the current manufacturing data package to ensure robust processes. Gain a thorough understanding of the processes, tooling, and requirements for production part numbers. All proposed changes to tooling, processes, and engineering designs will be worked in collaboration with multiple disciplines. This position will support both in-house and supplier Production Line Validations, Proposal activities and process improvements. Causal analysis and process improvements are activities to be completed at applicable times.

Basic Qualifications:

• Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)

• Ability to obtain a security clearance

• Manufacturing background

• Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality and/or safety

• Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data

• Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education

• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles

• Demonstrated effective communication skills including oral, listening, technical writing and presentations

Desired Skills:

• SAP experience

• Intermediate skill level in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

• GD&T knowledge and application

• Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

• Effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration, and developing enduring business relationships that resulted in successful projects and actions.

• Previous production experience and understanding of the either the HIMARS, GMLRS or ATACMS systems
