Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer Sr/Grand Prairie, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a manufacturing engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to support the ATACMS program. This role will require communication and collaboration with multiple disciplines within the program, as well as internal and external suppliers. The day to day business rhythm will be the application of manufacturing engineering methodologies and skills to meet customer requirements and achieve the goals and objectives of the production program. You will be part of a team that contributes to the success of the program and delivery of the product.

Day to day tasks include, but not limited to: process verification or validation activities, Design for Manufacture input on engineering and tooling designs, corrective action activities, bill of material maintenance, earned value management, manufacturing engineering support to internal and external suppliers, and management of tool configuration. Some domestic travel will be required.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Support the improvement of production processes at suppliers via knowledge of the product, assembly methods, tooling, and engineering requirements

• Lead Production Line Validations (PLV) and/or verification efforts

• Active team member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), communicating vital information to the IPT and manufacturing engineering team lead

• Work hand in hand with suppliers by providing manufacturing engineering support

• Perform Earned Value Management activities

• Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR)

• Coordinate efforts to change or maintain tooling

• Maintain Make or Buy document

Basic Qualifications:

• Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)

• Experience with a production program

• Proactive approach to issues

• Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, product/performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data

• Familiar with Product Line Validations

• Demonstrated effective communication skills including oral, listening, technical writing and presentations

• SAP experience

• Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education

Desired Skills:

• Intermediate SAP experience

• Intermediate skill level in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• GD&T knowledge and application

• Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, product/performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

• Effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration, and developing enduring business relationships, that resulted in successful projects and actions.

• Lead successful Production Line Validation events

• Capable of communicating to managers and the customer

• Self-motivated problem solver
