Scotland is the headquarters of our International Supply Centre (ISC) and home of Diageo’s diverse range of Scotch whiskies. Maturation is a key element of the whisky and rum making processes. Diageo Maturation looks after c.10m casks of maturing spirit with an annual processing throughput of around 4m casks per annum covering spirit filled, bonded, removed and disgorged.

About the role

This role is aligned to one of the Operating Units within Maturation (Warehousing Operations) working with the Leadership Teams to lead, motivate and manage an operational team, to deliver a high level of service in a manufacturing environment.

In this role you would be part of an Elite Leadership team, to support the delivery of the Maturation strategy through leading, motivating and managing an operational team, to deliver a high level of service in a manufacturing environment.

Your top accountabilities would be:

  • To Run the Business through:

  • Driving a positive safety culture and ensuring a high level of compliance against all relevant Policies and standards.

  • Achieving all performance and delivery targets for your area, and continuously looking for opportunities to drive productivity, with a strong focus and team awareness on quality and cost

  • To Improve the Business through driving positive change within your area, using MANEX practices to influence better performance and team engagement.

  • To role model the leadership standard, through:

  • Adopting a winning and curious mindset- looking for, and owning, opportunities to shape the future

  • Inspiring your team with purpose and setting direction in an engaging and meaningful way

About you

You'll have the ambition to achieve successful outcomes and high standards through engaging a high performing team. With a continual focus on safety, efficiency, service and quality, you'll need to be able to multitask and prioritise workload. You’ll also be ready to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business including with Finance, Governance, HR and external suppliers/agencies.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for you to further develop your leadership and functional skills within a varied and demanding live operational setting and can be a springboard into a range of other exciting roles across our Supply Chain business.

It’s desirable but not essential that you’ll have relevant experience or qualifications relating to Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma / Manufacturing Excellence and as the Nebosh Health and Safety qualification is a prerequisite for the role you’ll be willing to achieve if you haven’t already.
