The advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) field application team at Texas Instruments EMEA Sales GmbH (TI) provides technical support (hardware and software related) for automotive suppliers and OEMs. Most of the tasks are focused on dedicated system-on-chip (SoC) devices that are developed for processing of radar, imaging and lidar signals. Examples are TI’s ADAS SoC family (TDAx) and the mmWave family devices (AWR1x).

One field of activity is to develop hardware near example code and test code for interface modules to demonstrate the capability of the SoC. For accelerated development a software development kit (SDK) is utilized, which includes real-time operating systems, drivers,ADAS-specific use cases and corresponding development tools. In addition the field application team helps ADAS customers during system development and takes care of any hardware- or software-related issue by understanding, analyzing and reproducing the reported finding. Typical ADAS applications range from a stand-alone function like a traffic sign recognition to more complex multi-sensor systems allowing a condtional automation.
