JOB SUMMARY :

Performs basic/complex vascular ultrasound procedures as defined in Policy and Procedure Manuals. Organizes and prioritizes work in accordance with the departments needs.

Under minimal supervision, operates cardiac ultrasound equipment to produce optimal echocardiographic images for diagnostic evaluation of chamber measurements, blood flow characteristics, and cardiac function for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Quality of work and work schedules are supervised by the Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

Experience:

  • Two years acute hospital experience performing adult echocardiograms, stress echos, Dobutamine, transesophageal echos, vascular, carotid, arterial venous testing

  • RDCS and RVT registered; maintains active status

License/Certification:

  • RDCS/RVT (Must be registry eligible and obtain certification within one year of hire)

  • American Heart BLS Healthcare Provider level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Experience:

  • One year extensive pediatric and neonate experience.

License/Certification:

  • RDCS/RVT or RDMS
